RALEIGH, NC – Gaye Orr, President of Coldwell Banker Advantage New Homes congratulates JD Mahoney Construction on being named a Gold Winner in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) National Sales and Marketing Awards for Best Product Design Custom Home. JD Mahoney Construction was recognized with this award for "Villa Sienna," a historically accurate Robert Martignoni design priced at $699,000. The home is located in Briar Chapel, a Newland Communities development in Chatham County.

This award is an honor that distinguishes JD Mahoney Construction from a very competitive field. Company President Dan Mahoney received the award on January 19, 2010 in Las Vegas at the National Awards Dinner, a feature highlight of NAHB's International Builders Show.

At 3,677 heated square feet, this 4 bedroom/4.5 bath Certified Silver Level Green Built/Energy Star® home features extensive custom interior trim and select white oak hardwood floors with custom walnut borders throughout the first floor. The flowing floor plan is enhanced by an epicurean kitchen with Cambria® countertops and Bosch® appliances, overlooking a covered side porch connecting with a private side yard and patio for outdoor living options. Ten foot first floor and 9' second floor ceilings augment the feeling of spaciousness in "Villa Sienna." Oak stairwells in the front and back of the home, a stunning first floor owner's suite with fabulous tile work in the luxury bath, and a full guest suite plus two more bedrooms upstairs combine with storage and a huge bonus room with a full bath and a wet bar over the expansive 3-car/rear-entry garage to make this entry stand out from all others.

"Villa Sienna' has won every awards category in which it has been entered," says Dan Mahoney. "It won in its category in the Parade of Homes for the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties; it won at the NC Home Builders Association STAR Awards; it was a Silver Finalist for the NAHB National Sales and Marketing Awards; and now, it has captured the Gold Award for the NAHB Nationals, signifying it as the Best Product Design Custom Home for its size on an international level. I worked with the designer to modify this plan to fit at Briar Chapel, and I can personally say that the plan uses every inch to its advantage. Villa Sienna' is a beautiful, historically accurate, very cool home; totally livable. It's rewarding that this home has received this recognition... I'm very proud of it."

As an award-winning builder in the residential construction industry for more than 30 years, Dan Mahoney is a former President of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties. He is a founding member of the Chatham Builder Guild at Briar Chapel, a select group of award-winning builders created to provide truly custom construction, innovative design, and personalized service. Are You Selling Collaboratively?

Sep. 06, 2010 - (by Olalah Njenga, Columnist, Marketing Strategist & Author Marketing Strategist; and owner of YellowWood Group) Too often, our enthusiasm to simply close the sale clouds our perspective. Not only are we leaving money on the proverbial table, but we are leaving something far more important on it. Opportunity! When we sell collaboratively, we roll up our sleeves and get a little dirt under our finger nails. We ask both the finite and the broad sweeping questions. We probe. We reflect. We engage. In the end, we, as sales professionals, position ourselves as the non-expendable resource that our clients are craving. We become the catalyst of opportunity making.

Don't assume that collaborative selling is merely the evolution of consultative selling. You would be mistaken. In a consultative selling relationship, sales professionals offer value, steer dialogue and uncover issues that could impede progress. In collaborative selling, sales professionals are highly involved in the interworkings of the clients' businesses. Collaborative selling demands that we work lock-step with a variety of people within the companies were we collaborate. Selling collaboratively is not for the faint at heart. It's not for the sales professionals who are happy to close the deal. Collaborative selling is for "sales rock stars". If you don't know whether you are a sales rock star or not, you probably aren't, but that doesn't mean you can't be one . . . eventually.

If you're interested in selling collaboratively, then take note, here's 3 ways to jump start the journey.   More »
