Apex, NC - Home Video Studio–Apex recently won 3 Hanley Awards and the Relationship Mindset Award at the 9th annual Home Video Studio (HVS) Getaway at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Hanley Awards are HVS' version of the Oscars, which recognize achievement in the movie industry. Home Video Studio is the largest international video production services franchise with studios located in the United States, Canada and Sweden.

Studio owners Peter and Sharon Galluzzo received 7 nominations for their video work out of the 33 Hanley award categories. Studio owners from across the world entered to win Best Video Production, Best Documentary, and Best of Show to name a few types of honors. The Hanleys, named after Robert Hanley, the founder and president of Home Video Studio, are in recognition of a studio owner's work during the past year.

Home Video Studio-Apex won for its work in the Best Event Video, Best Video Lifestories and Best Open House categories. The Best Event video featured the student work of Carolina Ballroom of Cary in its Winter Showcase. Mitzi and Robert Wright partnered with Home Video Studio-Apex to document the Spring and Winter showcases since the dance studio first opened. The Apex Historical Society's oral history project inspired the Video Lifestories Award with 4 local women telling stories of Apex in years gone by. The third Hanley was awarded for the Red Carpet World Premier Grand Opening that was held in October 2008. The Relationship Mindset Award recognizes the studio that incorporates, as a way of business, the development of meaningful relationships with community, businesses and customers.

"We are both pleased and humbled that our work was recognized," says Peter Galluzzo, Home Video Studio owner. "We strive to produce the best work for our customers and develop relationships that go beyond the job at hand. Preserving memories and creating new ones is our passion at Home Video Studio."

In addition to being an honored guest at the gala black-tie Hanley Awards ceremony, the Galluzzos participated in video production training in lighting, audio, camera techniques and video editing at the Home Video Studio Getaway convention. These studio owners use Apple's Final Cut Pro™ and DVD Studio Pro ™ along with other video and graphic software programs to ensure the highest quality of work performed. This is the same technology utilized in the making of Hollywood movies and network television shows.

HVS studio owners provide at least 27 different types of professional video services. Some of those services include video to DVD transfers, photo/video montage keepsakes, home movie transfers, videotape duplication, video editing, legal video services, and sports or music scholarship videos.

On My Honor, I Will

Aug. 29, 2010 - (By: Gary Tomlinson) "Learning from the school of hard knocks can be very informing, but often the tuition is too high! We should learn from other people's experiences." The purpose of this column is to share great business wisdom from the experiences of authors like Jim Collins, Michael Gerber, Gary Harpst, Michael LeBoeuf, Ron Willingham, Randy Pennington and others. Because when you combine great business education with your own business experiences the outcome you'll receive is far greater than the sum of its parts.

The wisdom of Randy Pennington's new book; "On My Honor, I Will; The Journey to Integrity-Driven Leadership" has been chosen to share with you this week. The seed for this book began with five words: "He's a REAL BOY SCOUT." Those words were spoken to Randy Pennington by his client who used them to describe his boss. They were not meant as a compliment. His client's contention that honor and integrity are not consistent with long-term success concerned Randy then and continues to do so today. It was the catalyst that caused him to write this book.

Unfortunately his client's belief is shared by many others today.   More »
