Raleigh, N.C. (December 21st, 2017) – The Me Fine Foundation is proud to announce that it will begin providing financial and emotional support to parents and caregivers whose children are receiving critical medical treatment at WakeMed Children’s Hospital. Me Fine currently serves the populations of Duke and UNC Children’s Hospitals and will add WakeMed in 2018, a move that marks the first expansion of services for the non-profit founded in 2004.
WakeMed Children’s Hospital is the only pediatric inpatient care provider in Wake County, caring for thousands of babies and children each. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are renowned for their treatment for life-threatening childhood diseases and care for premature and critically ill infants.
“We at WakeMed are excited to partner with Me Fine to give our families additional resources and support. This will be an invaluable resource for our families as they adjust to the realities of having a baby with significant medical needs,” said Ryah Koprowski, a Social Worker in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at WakeMed Children’s.
“The addition of WakeMed Children’s Hospital will go down as one of the most significant moments in the history of our organization, “ said Joey Powell, Executive Director of the Me Fine Foundation. “The support of the community has allowed us to extend our reach into Wake County and serve even more families in need,” he added.
