Apex, NC – November 6, 2018:  The Perky Lady, a professional intimate apparel fitting and lingerie boutique, will celebrate its one-year anniversary during the month of November with a pop-up market, open house and charity silent auction, benefiting local veterans.

The shop, located in Apex, N.C., will host American Heroes Fashion Week Nov. 6-10, 2018, and will feature a silent auction raising money for The Joel Fund™, a local non-profit that helps veterans reconnect to life at home through non-traditional services. The silent auction will specifically help fund the group’s Operation A.R.T.™ program, which brings art classes to veterans and their families. Operation A.R.T. ™ classes are currently offered in Wake Forest and Durham and will soon be offered in Fuquay-Varina.

During American Heroes Fashion Week, The Perky Lady will share new silent auction items daily on its Facebook and Instagram pages. The public can bid on items and services such as lingerie, photo sessions, hair services, gift baskets, event tickets, etc.

Additionally, the shop will host different in-store promotions during the week, such as:

  • Military veterans, first responders and emergency medical professionals will receive a 20 percent discount on all items in The Perky Lady store.
  • Daily in-store specials for all shop customers.
  • A free gift card from The Perky Lady for all monetary and/or art supply donations made in-store for The Joel Fund™. Paint brushes, markers, colored pencils, sketch pads and canvasses are some examples of items that will be accepted.

On average, it costs $100 to put one veteran though an eight-week Operation A.R.T. ™ class and The Perky Lady would like to raise enough funds from the silent auction and donations to send 10 local heroes through classes, which include painting and photography.

“I am honored that The Perky Lady can celebrate this special business milestone, while also giving back to an organization that helps the men and women who have served our country,” said April Scotece-Buchanan, owner of The Perky Lady. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Brooke Dickhart, the executive director of The Joel Fund™, to The Perky Lady when she makes a visit on Thursday, Nov. 8, during American Heroes Fashion Week.”

On Saturday, Nov. 10, a pop-up market featuring local female vendors will take place at The Perky Lady from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and bidding for the silent auction will close at 2 p.m. with winners announced right after. The pop-up market features items and activities for men, women and children. Everyone can enjoy fall-inspired cotton candy flavors and non-alcoholic sparkling beverages.

The shop’s one-year anniversary celebration culminates on Saturday, Nov. 17. On this day, the public is invited to visit The Perky Lady during store hours, meet the shop’s staff and enjoy special in-store promotions.

“I decided to open The Perky Lady shop in 2017 after having many terrible bra shopping experiences,” said Scotece-Buchanan. “I’m happy we’ve been able to offer women of all shapes and sizes access to a comfortable and inviting place to be fitted for undergarments and lingerie this past year.”
